The One Way Refinishing Training Program was designed to standardize onboarding and improve consistency in the tub preparation phase—the most critical step in the refinishing process. Prior to this initiative, training relied heavily on verbal instruction, leading to inconsistent techniques, longer onboarding times, and increased errors.
To address this, I developed a comprehensive bilingual (English & Portuguese) training solution that combined eLearning, instructor-led training, and performance support materials. This blended approach transformed a hands-on process into a structured, scalable learning experience that improves technician performance, reduces errors, and supports consistent, high-quality outcomes.
Solution
The solution was designed as a blended training program that integrates digital learning, hands-on instruction, and job aids to support both knowledge acquisition and skill application.
The process began with the development of a detailed storyboard, which mapped out the entire learning experience, including screen flow, interactions, and assessments. This served as the foundation for building the eLearning course in Storyline 360.
To reinforce learning and support real-world application, a follow-up instructor-led training session was designed to provide guided practice, demonstrations, and feedback. Additional support materials—including a learner guide and a visual job aid—were created to ensure consistency and provide technicians with accessible, on-the-job references.
Together, these components create a cohesive training system that supports both initial learning and long-term performance.
This blueprint outlines the instructional strategy, learning sequence, and scenario-based approach used to design the eLearning experience.
Tools & Technologies
Articulate Storyline 360, Vyond, Canva, and Google Workspace were used to design and deliver a cohesive, bilingual training experience across eLearning and instructor-led formats.
Training Components
eLearning Course (Storyline 360)
Interactive bilingual course designed to standardize training and provide clear, step-by-step guidance.
To support bilingual learners and reduce cognitive load, visual reference slides were created to reinforce tool and material recognition throughout the training.
Task Analysis (Preparation Phase)
Used as a structured reference to support learning and answer questions during training.
